Well, now seems to be the turn to another of the mythical torrent search engines, the popular tracker Bitsnoop, the portal that has just closed its doors without giving any explanation to the huge number of regular customers that had in all over the world. In fact, the maximum responsibility of the site for the moment has refused to make any comment about this decision that has been taken, but as we can see when accessing the search engine, all its data collected over the years have been Delivered to another important search engine of torrent files such as Zooqle. It should be noted that Bitsnoop was another of the mythical trackers for this community since it had been running since 2008 and was one of the search engines for torrents that obtained one of the fastest growth at the beginning of this decade. In its beginnings, it managed to index nothing more and nothing less than about one million torrents, a figure that evidently continued to expand over the following years. In fact, earlier this week, when it was still in operation, the site still had the not inconsiderable figure of 23,862,834 of torrents indexed. Torrent search engine Bitsnoop closes its doors However only a few hours ago the site stopped working suddenly, all with a brief announcement published to its users when trying to access the same web page torrents. From here they announce that “It’s been a nice ride, but all things eventually come to an end. For now, check out Zooqle – these guys seem to know their stuff. They took our data and said they will index it eventually. Thank you. We love you. We will miss you. Keep being awesome. — Your friendly robots and oppressed meatbags of Bitsnoop, 2008-2017”.
They do not want to make further statements about it, so it is not known whether this decision has been taken entirely voluntarily or by the pressures exerted by different groups that fight against piracy and therefore, against this type of portals of links. With this closure of Bitsnoop, the torrent community loses another of the most used search engines worldwide and over the years has been placed within the top 10 of the most visited torrents sites on several occasions. Like many other similar portals, Bitsnoop is blocked by ISPs in several countries including the United Kingdom or Italy and was close to being also blocked in Australia. As for Zooqle, this is a relatively new site that appeared last year and has been growing ever since.
