In a DDoS attack, the incoming traffic flooding the victim begins from many unusual sources – potentially hundreds of thousands or further. This completely makes it difficult to stop the attack simply by blocking a single IP address. Moreover, it is very difficult to recognize genuine user traffic from attack traffic when spread across so many points of entrance. According to the sources, this attack took place just after the Game Pokemon Go launched in 26 more countries in Europe which include Ireland, Greece, Poland and Sweden. “Our servers are humbled by your incredible response. We are working to resolve the issue. Please try again soon!” It was the message that was shown to Pokémon Go users when they tried to play the game. Pokemon Go’s soon recognized the attack and then tweeted from its official twitter account “Trainers! We have been working to fix the #PokemonGO server issues. Thank you for your patience. We’ll post an update soon.”
