Recently, few users on Reddit and Twitter were found complaining that they were unable to delete their own post from the desktop version of Facebook. However, many others are still having the option to delete their post on a Facebook desktop version.

— Steve Percival (@Steve_Percival) November 17, 2017 Well, this might be a bug or Facebook is testing an upcoming change. Whatever might be the reason, you still have the option to delete your own Facebook posts by going through the Activity Log. The activity log is the place which gives the clear view of what you share and do on Facebook, the option to delete your own post is still there. But, the question is why would Facebook even test such a feature which restricts users from deleting their own posts? Well, Facebook uses the old posts for improving its advertising algorithms. Facebook also uses old status for Memories posts. There are also possibilities that Facebook might be tricking users to use their mobile app more often to delete posts. Facebook hasn’t given any clarification on this. We will update this post when we will have a future update. So, what do you think about this? Share your view in the comment box below.
